In December 2022, Congress enacted two measures that expand rights for pregnant and nursing workers: the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) and the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursing Mothers Act (PUMP Act). The PUMP Act is now in effect, and the PWFA takes effect June 27, 2023.
