Parenting at Littler (PALs) was launched in January of 2020 to help address the distinctive circumstances that parents and caregivers face while juggling their career and caretaking responsibilities. Shortly thereafter, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, making these circumstances even more unique, and challenging for many parents. Since then, PALs has continued to put out programming that helps foster a positive culture around working families.

In addition to supporting caregivers, PALs helps ensure that the firm’s culture and practices are aligned with supporting and empowering attorneys with caregiving responsibilities so that they can continue to progress in their legal careers. PALs hosts support groups that connect attorneys across the firm who have children of similar ages or common caregiving interests to share experiences, stories and resources; as well as support one another.

Parenting and billing hours are sometimes impossible tasks that can be frustrating and isolating. Through the PALs Infant to Toddler group I’ve made connections across the firm in ways I never would have otherwise. Being able to connect with other parents going through the same lawyer/parent journey has provided a lot of encouragement and inspiration. The group is also a great resource for ideas about new shows for our kids to watch, tips for smooth bedtimes, and food suggestions.
