Overview

Candace Forte regulary represents employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies, including the California Labor Commissioner’s Office, the California Civil Rights Division and the Equal Opportunity Commission. With her background as a former human resources professional, she provides legal representation that aligns with her clients’ business goals. 

Candace advises and defends employers in employment-related matters, including:

  • Employment taxes
  • State and federal wage and hour litigation
  • Policies, procedures, and handbooks
  • Title VII, FMLA, ADA, and ADEA
  • Wrongful termination
  • Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
  • Leave and disability accomondation

Prior to joining Littler, Candace had a successful and extensive career managing human resources (HR) functions for small and mid-sized companies. Candace consulted and advised on employment issues, negotiated high-stakes wage and hour claims, investigated employee complaints, and administered leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations. Throughout her career, her experiences have centered around resolving workplace issues by recognizing the interests of employers.

During law school, Candace externed at the National Labor Relations Board, the Internal Revenue Service, as well as a plaintiff-side employment law firm. She also interned with the Milwaukee Public Schools in their Employee Rights Division.
