Jamie Jacobs advises employers of all types and sizes regarding various employment and personnel issues and claims, including discrimination and harassment, disability and accommodation, paid sick leave and leaves of absence, and wage and hour. She helps clients stay current and compliant with an ever-changing legal landscape by drafting employee handbooks, policies, and employment agreements and conducting compliance audits.
Jamie has been seconded to multiple clients, including a multinational consumer product, manufacturing, and licensing company with a portfolio of globally recognized brands; a global e-commerce, logistics, and technology conglomerate and Fortune 100 leader; and a major U.S.-based apparel retailing company. While on secondment, Jamie gained valuable in-house perspective and meaningful experience working cross-functionally with various business units to update and implement nationwide policies, advise on restructuring and layoff disputes, manage litigation matters, oversee internal investigations as well as provide advice and counseling on daily employment and human resources issues.
In addition, Jamie also defends employers against claims involving discrimination and harassment, wage and hour compliance, and the California Private Attorneys General Act. She has experience in front of federal and state courts and administrative agencies, as well as in arbitration and mediation.
Prior to joining Littler, Jamie exclusively practiced labor and employment litigation and counseling/advice at a boutique firm with an emphasis in the hospitality industry. During law school, she served as an extern for the Hon. William V. Gallo in the Southern District of California, was lead articles editor for the San Diego Law Review, and president of the International Law Society.
