Overview

Keith Belfield focuses his practice on labor and employment law matters.

Prior to joining Littler, Keith was an assistant corporation counsel for the New York City Law Department. While working for the City of New York, he first served in the Tort Division, where he handled matters involving municipal tort liability, before transferring to the New York City Law Department's Labor and Employment Division. In the Labor and Employment Division, Keith handled a variety of state and federal employment actions involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and hostile work environment under Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, First Amendment, New York State Human Rights Law, and New York City Human Rights Law. In his role with the City of New York, he handled all aspects of litigation, including drafting answers, responding to discovery demands, drafting dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, and attending settlement conferences. 

In addition to representing the City of New York in single-plaintiff actions, Keith also has experience defending the City of New York in class actions.
