Former Littler Mendelson Shareholder Rejoins The Firm: Littler’s San Jose Office Welcomes Back Richard Leasia

San Jose, CA / August 9, 2007 -- Littler Mendelson P.C. ("Littler"), the nation's largest employment and labor law firm, is pleased to announce the return of Richard A. Leasia as a shareholder to its San Jose office.

"Richard's return brings a sense of personal satisfaction to me, as well as an added value to our clients," said Dennis Brown, managing shareholder of the San Jose office. "We hated to see him go and are thrilled that we have him back. Not only is he an accomplished employment attorney, but he has a successful history with Littler. I would venture to say that, with the possible exception of some of his colleagues here, there is no one in the South Bay with anywhere near the broad range of experience in employment and labor law that he possesses."

Prior to re-joining Littler, Mr. Leasia was a partner at the San Jose office of Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner, where he concentrated his practice on the representation of management in labor and employment matters. Mr. Leasia is well-versed in collective bargaining and has represented management in union grievance and arbitration proceedings. He has advised and represented employers regarding the organization of unions. Mr. Leasia has represented employers in administrative and civil litigation arising from employee discipline and termination matters. He has also advised and served as counsel to employers seeking to understand and comply with federal, state and local labor and employment laws. In addition, Mr. Leasia has drafted and reviewed employment agreements, handbooks and policies designed to protect employers and to ensure compliance with protective labor laws and judicial decisions.

"Re-joining Littler made perfect sense to me," said Richard Leasia, shareholder in the San Jose office. "I never really lost touch with the people here, and given the firm's national and international reach, it just became clear that it was the right place to take my practice to the next level."

Mr. Leasia received his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Michigan in 1972, his M.A. from the University of Michigan in 1973 and his J.D., with honors, from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1976. He is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the State Bar of California and a member of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Leasia is also a member of the American Bar Association in the Litigation Section and the Labor and Employment Law Section, and he is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association in the Labor and Employment Law Section.
