LOS ANGELES, CA (November 07, 2014) – Helene Wasserman, a shareholder in the Los Angeles offices of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been elected to the Institute for Corporate Counsel’s (ICC) Advisory Board. She will serve a two-year term. The ICC is the premier annual event addressing key legal developments impacting in house counsel.
Advisory Board members are unanimously elected by the ICC’s Board of Governors. As an Advisory Board member, Wasserman will provide input on speakers and topics for the annual conference. This year, the ICC will take place on December 3 and feature the following speakers: former California Department of Fair Employment and Housing Director Phyllis Cheng, Edison International Chairman Ted Craver, Jr., California Solicitor General Edward Dumont, U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag (N.D. Cal.), the Honorable Sandra Ikuta (9th Circuit), L.A. County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, the General Counsel of Allergan, Aurora Capital Group, Cornerstone Research, Idealab, OpenX, Resources Global Professionals and Western Digital Corporation, and many other prominent in house and outside practitioners.
At Littler, Wasserman is the co-chair of the firm’s Complex Litigation and Jury Trials Practice Group. She counsels clients in the area of labor and employment law, and often works with clients in the hospitality, staffing, construction and transportation industries. Wasserman appears before state and federal courts and administrative agencies and handles litigation matters, including trial practice, arbitration and mediation. Additionally, she provides day-to-day counseling and advice on hiring, discipline and termination of employees, wage and hour matters, downsizing, workplace violence and compliance with all state and federal employment laws.
Wasserman is frequently featured and quoted in various publications on subjects ranging from employment law to the use of technology in the legal profession. Active in a number of professional organizations, she is a member of the litigation section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Bar Association. She is the immediate past chair for the Conference of California Bar Associations, a state-wide organization devoted to improving the legal profession through legislation.
She received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California Los Angeles.
